Chris DeGarmo

Chris DeGarmo is an American musician best known as the guitarist and primary songwriter for the progressive metal band Queensrÿche. Born on April 14, 1964, in Everett, Washington, he played a pivotal role in shaping the band's sound during their peak in the 1980s and early 1990s. Queensrÿche's music blends heavy metal with elements of progressive and alternative rock, characterized by complex compositions and thought-provoking lyrics. DeGarmo's notable works include the critically acclaimed albums "Operation: Mindcrime" (1988) and "Empire" (1990), which featured hits like "Silent Lucidity" and "Jet City Woman." His guitar work and songwriting significantly contributed to the band’s identity, particularly their storytelling approach in concept albums.
